Nuclear Technique and Materials Lab

The laboratory include experimental and theoretical scientists with a central focus on studying radiation induced changes in physical, mechanical and structural properties of materials through simulation, and analysis of experimental or commercial reactor irradiated materials. The research expertise within the group spans from the development of novel materials and physical processes of radiation effects to qualification and licensing of materials for nuclear energy systems. The current material systems include conventional and advanced steels, nonferrous metals and alloys, ceramics and ceramic composites, superconducting materials, polymeric insulation and carbon and its composites.
